Momentum rewards non-stop mining with a combo multiplier. The longer you mine without pausing, the higher your multiplier grows — boosting all economy earnings and XP until you stop. It’s a simple mechanic with a powerful payoff: stay in the zone and the prison pays you back for it.

How Combos Work

Start Mining

Every block you break increments your combo counter by 1. Your multiplier begins scaling immediately from the first block.

Keep the Chain Going

Your combo multiplier scales with the counter — the higher your block count, the stronger the boost applied to all autosell earnings and XP.

Don't Stop

If you stop mining for longer than the configured reset timeout (default: 5 seconds), your combo resets back to 1×. Even a brief pause costs you the entire chain.

Hit Milestones

Reaching configured milestone combo counts triggers celebrations and awards bonus payouts — keep pushing toward the next milestone for extra rewards.

Milestone Celebrations

When you reach a configured milestone combo count (for example, 100, 500, or 1000 blocks mined in a row), Momentum triggers a celebration:
  • A chat announcement broadcasts your achievement to the server (if enabled)
  • Particle effects fire around your character
  • A bonus reward payout is deposited directly — extra money, tokens, or whatever your server has configured
Milestone thresholds, announcements, and bonus values are all defined in config.yml under the momentum section.
Milestones are one-time-per-session events — reaching 100 blocks fires the 100-block milestone once, but it won’t fire again until your combo resets and you reach 100 again.

Viewing Your Combo

Your current combo counter and active multiplier are displayed on-screen at all times while mining. Depending on your server’s configuration this appears as:
  • An actionbar message below your hotbar (default)
  • A scoreboard line on the side of your screen
You can also check your current multiplier at any time via /prison or by looking at the lore on your pickaxe, which updates dynamically.

Configuration

Add or edit the momentum block in plugins/JPPrison/config.yml:
Combine Momentum with Timed Boosts and Pets for maximum earnings during long mining sessions. A high combo multiplier stacks with pet economy boosts and active timed boosts — the three systems together can multiply your baseline earnings several times over.
