# JPPrison Plugin Configuration Files: Complete Overview

> All JPPrison settings live in plugins/JPPrison/. Learn which file controls what, how auto-migration works, and how to reload configs without restarting.

Every JPPrison setting is controlled by YAML files in `plugins/JPPrison/`. You never need to recompile or restart the server to apply changes — run `/jpprison reload` after saving any file.

## File Map

The table below covers every file and folder in `plugins/JPPrison/` and what it controls.

| `messages.yml` | All chat messages and format strings |
| `autosell.yml` | Per-block sell prices and XP rewards |
| `economies/` | One YAML file per economy (id, name, symbol, color, decimals) |
| `enchants/` | One YAML file per enchant (levels, costs, chances, FX, prestige) |
| `menus/` | Every menu layout and UI string |
| `colors/` | Pickaxe lore color themes |
| `shards.yml` / `runes.yml` | Insertable boost items that socket into the pickaxe |
| `pets.yml` | Pets, levels, boosts, armor colors, lucky blocks |
| `armors.yml` | Boost armor chain |
| `bombs.yml` / `drills.yml` | Throwable/placeable tool types |
| `autominer.yml` + `autominer-upgrades/` | Clone miner settings and modules |

## Auto-Migration

Every config file carries a `config-version` field. When you update JPPrison to a new version, configs are migrated automatically on startup — your edits and comments are preserved. You never need to manually transfer settings between versions.

## Reloading

Run `/jpprison reload` to reload all config files, messages, economies, and menus without restarting the server. Changes take effect immediately for all online players.

## Backups

JPPrison automatically creates zip backups of the database and all configs on a configurable schedule. Find them in `plugins/JPPrison/backups/`. To create an immediate backup at any time, run:

/jpprison backup
```

You can adjust the backup interval and how many backups to keep in `config.yml`. See the [config.yml reference](/configuration/config-yml.md) for details.

## Feature Flags

Many systems can be toggled on or off in `config.yml` under their respective `enabled:` keys. Disabling a module completely unloads its functionality — useful for tailoring JPPrison to your server's exact feature set without sacrificing performance.
