# config.yml Reference Guide for JPPrison Server Owners

> Complete reference for JPPrison's config.yml. Covers the pickaxe XP curve, prestige, timed boosts, Vault, feature flags, and backup schedule.

`config.yml` is the master control file for JPPrison. It governs the pickaxe leveling curve, prestige system, timed boosts, Vault economy bridge, automatic backups, and global feature flags.

## Pickaxe Settings

The `pickaxe` block controls the maximum pickaxe level, the XP required to reach each level, and safety options for dropping the pickaxe.

```yaml theme={null}
pickaxe:
  max-level: 100
  xp-curve:
    base: 1000
    growth: 1.2        # each level requires 20% more XP than the last
  drop-confirm: true   # require double-Q to drop pickaxe
```

| Key | Type | Description |
| - | - | - |
| `max-level` | Integer | The highest level a pickaxe can reach |
| `xp-curve.base` | Integer | XP required to reach level 2 |
| `xp-curve.growth` | Decimal | Multiplier applied to XP cost each level |
| `drop-confirm` | Boolean | Requires double-tap Q to drop the pickaxe, preventing accidental loss |

## Prestige Settings

The `prestige` block enables the prestige system and controls how much it costs to prestige, how costs scale, and what multiplier bonus each prestige grants.

```yaml theme={null}
prestige:
  enabled: true
  cost:
    type: tokens
    base: 100000
    growth: 2.5
  multiplier-per-prestige: 0.1
  max-multiplier: 5.0
```

| Key | Type | Description |
| - | - | - |
| `enabled` | Boolean | Toggles the prestige system on or off |
| `cost.type` | String | Economy ID used for prestige costs |
| `cost.base` | Integer | Cost to achieve the first prestige |
| `cost.growth` | Decimal | Multiplier applied to cost each subsequent prestige |
| `multiplier-per-prestige` | Decimal | XP/sell multiplier bonus awarded per prestige level |
| `max-multiplier` | Decimal | Upper cap on the total accumulated multiplier |

## Timed Boosts

The `boosts` block configures server-wide timed multipliers that can be activated by players or staff. Boosts temporarily multiply XP gains and/or sell prices for all online players.

```yaml theme={null}
boosts:
  enabled: true
  max-duration-minutes: 60
  default-multiplier: 2.0
  stack: false           # false = new boost replaces the active one
```

| Key | Type | Description |
| - | - | - |
| `enabled` | Boolean | Enables the timed boost system globally |
| `max-duration-minutes` | Integer | Maximum duration (in minutes) a single boost may run |
| `default-multiplier` | Decimal | Multiplier applied to XP and sell payouts while a boost is active |
| `stack` | Boolean | When `true`, new boosts add on top of an existing active boost; when `false`, the latest boost replaces the current one |

## Vault Integration

The `vault` block connects JPPrison to any Vault-compatible economy plugin installed on your server.

```yaml theme={null}
vault:
  enabled: true
  economy-id: money    # which JPPrison economy maps to Vault
```

| Key | Type | Description |
| - | - | - |
| `enabled` | Boolean | Enables the Vault economy bridge |
| `economy-id` | String | The `id` of the JPPrison economy exposed to Vault |

> [!NOTE]
>
> The `economy-id` value must match the `id` field of an economy file inside `plugins/JPPrison/economies/`. See the [Economies Config](/configuration/economies.md) page for details.

## Backups

The `backups` block controls how often JPPrison automatically saves a zipped snapshot of your database and all config files to `plugins/JPPrison/backups/`.

```yaml theme={null}
backups:
  enabled: true
  interval-hours: 6
  max-keep: 10
```

| Key | Type | Description |
| - | - | - |
| `enabled` | Boolean | Enables automatic scheduled backups |
| `interval-hours` | Integer | Hours between each automatic backup |
| `max-keep` | Integer | Maximum number of backup zips to retain before the oldest is deleted |

Run `/jpprison backup` at any time to create an immediate backup outside the schedule.

## Feature Flags

Each module listed under `features` can be independently toggled. Set a value to `false` to completely disable that system and unload its functionality.

```yaml theme={null}
features:
  pets: true
  autominer: true
  minions: true
  loot-chests: true
  momentum: true
  boost-armor: true
  shards: true
  runes: true
```

| Flag | Description |
| - | - |
| `pets` | Companion pets with leveling and boosts |
| `autominer` | Clone miners that run in the background |
| `minions` | Mini-mob crew that mines alongside you |
| `loot-chests` | Placeable chests with randomised loot |
| `momentum` | Consecutive-mining speed/bonus mechanic |
| `boost-armor` | Armor sets that provide enchant multipliers |
| `shards` | Socketable boost shards for the pickaxe |
| `runes` | Socketable runes for extended enchant effects |

## Reloading

After saving any changes to `config.yml`, apply them instantly with:

```
/jpprison reload
```

No server restart is required.
